Crystal Meth manufacturing on the rise


Five years ago, RCMP noted an increase in the cash sales of products used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs, such as methamphetamine, ecstasy and GHB. Chemicals were being diverted from legitimate sources to illegitimate drug-making labs in Canada and, in particular, the U.S.

New drug courts in Canadian cities

New drug-treatment courts in Ottawa, Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg will be open soon. This program is a continuation of the drug-treatment strategy already in place in Toronto and Vancouver. It is aimed at reducing the number of drug addicts who regularly rotate through the court system.
