Express Diagnostics International has introduced the new
NxStep Onsite DrugCheck Test Cup. This self-contained
urinalysis screening device can detect up to 15
different drugs, adulterants, and alcohol. It is cleared
by the FDA and takes only 5 minutes to run. The device
has an 8-ounce cup with a 9% larger opening than
traditional 6-ounce collection cups. The product has an
unbreakable surface with new leakproof transport
technology. The drugs tested for are amphetamine,
barbiturate, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine,
methadone, opiates, oxycodone. phencyclidine (PCP),
marijuana, ecstasy, propoxyphene, tricyclic
antidepressants, alcohol, and adulterants. The product
can be configured in any drug combinations with
individual chambers to eliminate interpretation
confusion. No handling or manipulation is required to
activate the test. Security seals and record result
forms are included to facilitate confirmation

In drug analysis, OraLine® gives professionals the advantages they need. oral fluid drug screening has certain advantages over the screening of other biological fluids such as urine and blood. Oral fluid is readily accessible, and is less likely to be adulterated. With oral fluid tests the drugs may be detected immediately after ingestion, even before they are metabolized and would show up in urine. Generally OraLine® is designed to work at a lower detection level for all test drugs than those detected in urine samples. OraLine® oral screening for drugs of abuse detects the presence of parent compounds and drug metabolites.
The OraLine® products use an immunochromatographic technique that provides the accuracy of an immunoassay without the need for laboratory equipment. It is designed to detect recent drug usage, and is particularly useful for screening of drug intoxication.

Oraline IV Teast Procedure:
Test Preparation:
-
If the device was stored refridgerated: Let the test device come to room temperature prior to opening the pouch.

Make sure that the person being tested has nothing in his/her mouth for at least 5 minutes before the oral fluid sample is collected.
-
The person being tested must be able to produce and deliver a sufficent volume of oral fluid sample (about 0.4 ml) with minimum about of bubbles for the test to function properly. In case of collection difficulty: Administrator may choose to collect the oral fluid in a disposable cup first. the oral fluid could be delivered into the spoon by pouring a pipette.

Test Procedure:
Remove the test device from the pouch. Verify that five (5) green lines are present in the test window. If the green lines are not present, a new devide with 5 visible green lines should be used. Mark the device with the subject's name or ID number and remove the cap.

Prepare the test subject for saliva sample collection. Let the person accumulate sufficent saliva in the mouth, first, for about a minute.

Place the end of the dcevice in the the subject's mouth and collect a spoonful oral fluid. Make sure the spoon is held horizontaly with the handle in an upward position.

Once the spoon is filled, do not replace the cap until the sample shows up in the view window. Place the device on a protected flat surface, and allow for 10 minutes.
The test results are read between 10-12 minutes in the viewing window. Make sure the control line (C) is clearly visible before reading and recording results.

Interpretation Of The test Result:
For normal negatives, the red lines will replace all green lines as the test runs. Absence of any test line is presumptive positive for the tested drug. The Oraline test has shown affective in detecting recent drug usage. NOTE: If the test is read before 10 minutes or after 12 minutes the results may be different. Thus, it is most important to record the test results in 10-12 minutes.
