CABLES

TOP ^

Q:

Can I have a master key?

A:

Most locks can be KEYED ALIKE ,one key opens all locks, Keyed Different unique key for every lock, Keyed Different Master Keyed unique key for every lock and a master key to open all locks

Q:

What size of cable do you use?

A:

Our cables are 7x19 aircraft cable. That means they are 7 strands of 19 individual cable for a 3/16" cable finished to 1/4" with a black PVC coat. They can be supplied in any length with either a single end or a looped end.

Q:

Do you have anything for laptops?

A:

Yes, the D-108 cable that attaches to the security slot on your laptop and secures to a part of your desk with a loop on the cable.

Q:

What about simple cable systems?

A:

We have two common cable systems. Secure IT comes with 6' cable, 3 metal plates, adhesive, padlock with 2 keys, and alcohol wipes. The Secure IT PLUS offers an upgraded system with a 6' cable and padlock with 2 keys but has one plate drilled for and supplied with one way screws for the desk, one large PMP plate with foam adhesive for the monitor and the lug nut that screws into the computer case. This lug nut has two functions: first, when attached to the PC it restricts access to the internal components, and second, with the cable passed through the lug nut, the PC is protected from a smash & grab because it is anchored to the desk with screws.

Q:

Who will do the installation?

A: Installation of the Secure IT & Secure IT PLUS are easy and can be done yourself.
SAFETY CHAIRS

TOP ^

Q: Who are the “mobility impaired?”
A: Anyone can become mobility impaired. One can be considered mobility impaired due to a sickness or injury that would impair one's ability to move down multiple flights of stairs. This distinction is not limited only to those who are permanently bound to wheelchairs. Those that are pregnant, elderly, sick, or suffering from a temporary injury (such as a sprained ankle) must also be planned for in every evacuation procedure. Any and all employees or potential visitors to the building or facility should also be considered.
Q: Is the Safety Chair easy to use, do I have to have training to use it?
A: None of the Safety Chairs require in-depth training to use. They are extremely easy to use. Simply take off the wall from the hanger provided with the chair, and unfold and make sure latches are in place, assist the evacuee into the chair, strap the evacuee into the chair with provided straps, and away you go. We do provide a step-by-step photo demonstration online here depicting the simple steps to using the chair.
Q: Is it true that the Safety Chairs can go upstairs as well as down?
A: The Safety Chair was designed to just as easily go up stairs as well as down (relocate or evacuate) without having to turn the chair around or do anything that is ergonomically unsound, unlike other chairs on the market. The Chair was originally designed by a security warden in charge of designing evacuation plans. It was evident through the designing of evacuation plans that it is sometimes necessary to go up stairs as well as down. This is due to obstructions such as: debris from the building, flooded floors, smoke, floors on fire, etc.
Q: What if there is debris on the stairs or some other obstruction?
A: The Safety Chairs were designed specifically with this in mind. There is a possibly that in the event of a fire, earthquake, or a terrorist strike that debris, smoke, or water from a flooded fire will obstruct the evacuation path in stairwells. The Safety Chairs can easily be lifted in the event of debris. The chair operators can easily change direction (without turning the chair) unlike all other evacuation chairs on the market. This is due to the fact it is lightweight, relies on two people for evacuation, and does not have a speed governor.
Q: Aren't governors something you want on an evacuation chair?
A: Chairs that rely on speed governors and one person to operate are fine unless you need to change direction due to an obstruction, go over debris, or go through water. Chairs that rely on speed governors are extremely heavy, this requires two people to change direction or go over debris or over/through water. With the Safety Chair evacuation devices two people are assigned to a evacuee from the get go. This allows a much more flexible evacuation that not only moves smoother, but also maximizes all chairs in any given building. Speed governors also require much more maintenance then the Safety Chairs.
Q: How much do the Safety Chair models weigh?
A: The chairs range in weight from 19 pounds (model 400) to 30 pounds (model 430). The chairs used for evacuation are lighter then most other evacuation chairs on the market due to the aircraft grade aluminum used in their construction. Anything that weighs less then 19 pounds you should be weary of due to an inherent low passenger weight capacity.
Q: What is the maximum weight capacity of the Safety Chairs?
A: All of the models have a weight capacity of 650+ pounds all while being extremely lightweight. The Safety Chairs have been lab tested to ensure the safety of chair passengers.
Q: How do I move a heavier passenger?
A: The Safety Chair models all have multiple points of lift to employ up to 6 points of lift to transport heavier passengers. Should there be a tight stairwell, the extra lift points can be quickly and easily removed using our quick detach system.
Q: Isn't bending over and lifting a passenger a danger to the person operating the Safety Chair?
A: The Safety Chair models are the only evacuation chairs on the market designed to easily relocate or evacuate a passenger all while keeping optimum ergonomic lifting position in mind. This is due to the fact that the operators arms are extended at all times during the evacuation procedure, even in the event of an obstruction. The same can not be said about any other evacuation chair on the market.
DRUG CHECK

TOP ^

Q:

What is DRUGCHECK and how does it work?

A:

DRUGCHECK is a self-contained urinalysis drug test that detects the presence of drug metabolites in urine within minutes.  The cup contains detection strips each designed to test a particular drug at NIDA cut-off levels. It provides instant results using a technology similar to that found in home pregnancy tests. Through the patented delivery system, urine reacts with the reagents and antigens on the strip to produce a colormetric reading indicating either positive or negative test results.

Q:

How does DRUGCHECK compare to other cups? to other testing procedures?

A:

The leading cups require significant manipulation or handling of the cup in order to activate the test. You must either tilt the cup or insert detections strips into the cup in order to initiate contact with the specimen. During testing, these cups are not sealed which puts the tester at greater risk of specimen exposure, accidents, tampering, and retesting. Should the specimen deliver a positive reading, further handling of the cups or split-samples are needed in order to prepare them for shipping to a confirmation lab. Other urine drug-testing products, such as testing strips, require direct handling of urine via pipettes, can take up to 45 minutes for results and also require split-sampling.

DRUGCHECK, on the other hand, doesn't require any steps to activate the test. Simply void urine into the cup and wait for the results. The cup is also ready to be shipped should it be necessary to confirm a positive reading. It's a simpler, safer, and saner approach to drug testing.

For a side by side comparison of DRUGCHECK against the leading cups, please see our comparison chart.

Q:

Is it as accurate as GC/MS?

A:

Like other onsite test products, DRUGCHECK is a qualitative test -- it only determines the presence of drugs at detection limits comparable to NIDA cut-off limits used for DOT testing. GC/MS, which costs more, quantifies the concentration of drugs in the sample. Given the purposes of most drug testing (pre-employment, post-accident, random) is to detect the presence of drug use and not determine the amounts ingested, DRUGCHECK satisfies the needs of most drug screening.

Q:

How can my business benefit from DRUGCHECK 5TM?

A:

DRUGCHECK is ideal for businesses that conduct pre-employment, random, and/or post-accident drug-testing.  Because of its ability to deliver instant results, DRUGCHECK allows your new employees to begin work immediately. (Compare that to waiting 24 - 72 hours for laboratory drug testing.) It also allows you to proceed both timely and knowledgeably during post-accident investigations. This is especially true for those companies conducting remote site testing.

Not only does DRUGCHECK allow you to be more productive, but it also saves you money. While the average test can cost upwards of $35.00, DRUGCHECK is about half the cost. Those who conduct a lot of drug tests and order in greater quantities, realize even greater savings through generous volume discounts. Furthermore, businesses can receive premium discounts up to 15% on their worker's compensation coverage with the implementation of a drug-testing program. Many states also reduce employers' liability in accidents determined to be caused by drug impairment.

Below are some concrete ways DRUGCHECK can benefit YOU:

If you collect samples and forward them to a laboratory: By collecting your samples in the DRUGCHECK cup and sending only the positive samples to the lab, you'll save on shipping and handling charges. Plus, you have the results in minutes instead of days.

If you contract pre-employment drug testing to a lab or clinic: By using DRUGCHECK onsite, you'll eliminate employees' travel time to and from the lab and get the results in minutes so employees begin working immediately.

If you currently use another drug test product: Because DRUGCHECK is simpler to use, you'll save on time spent on training and performing those extra steps. Who needs them when you have DRUGCHECK?

PRIVATEL

TOP ^

Q:

What is Privatel?

A:

Privatel is a device that attaches to your telephone between the handset and the base, it can be thought of as personal telephony security device. It offers you the ability, with the push of a button, to have secure telephone conversation with another party, from any phone, to any phone. Privatel digitizes and then encrypts your telephone conversation. Privatel does this by using two technology standards known as Triple-DES and Diffie-Hellman Public Key Exchange, which, in plain terms, offer you extremely secure connectivity without eavesdropping or wiretapping. Privatel does all this without the concern of a Government Key Escrow or the use of a Clipper Chip.

- Privatel is portable: it weighs less than one pound, works with virtually any phone, and connects in seconds.

- Privatel is easy to use: simple one button operation; just make a call, and push the secure button to establish a secure connection.

- Privatel is affordable: PrivatelTM fits within the budgets of any business, or anyone who needs to keep their conversation confidential.

- Privatel is secure: Utilizing a Diffie-Hellman Public Key Exchange, and a 168 bit key length industry standard encryption algorithm, PrivatelTM provides confidence that even dedicated attempts to eavesdrop will not succeed.

Q:

What do Government Key Escrow and the Clipper Chip do?

A:

Both the Government Key Escrow and the Clipper Chip are ways that government agencies, like the FBI, gain the encryption keys needed to decode the very same information you are trying to protect. With Privatel, you have no concern as it does not participate in either.

Q:

Can you send me information about Privatel?

A:

Sure, we have a great package that explains the need for voice encryption and how Privatel fills this need better than any other commercial product on the market. And by the way, our competition can be counted on one hand and our technology is far superior. Email: sales@dorosecurity.com

Q:

What if I'm using my Privatel to make a secure call, and someone in my home or office picks up another phone on the same line...will they hear my Privatel protected conversation?

A:

No, any third party who tries to listen in, whether friend or foe, will hear digitized modem tones, since the encryption and decryption of the Privatel signal occurs within Privatel, between the handset and the phone base.

Q:

Why do I need Privatel I'm not doing anything illegal!

A:

Privatel was designed to provide privacy for your sensitive/confidential/information. Just because your business - be it personal or professional - is legal, doesn't mean you want any and everyone to have access to the information. The loss of secrets can be embarrassing or damaging.

Q:

My people are very busy - isn't a secure telephone a hassle to use?

A:

Privatel is as simple as pushing a single button. Just place a phone call as you normally would, indicate to the other party that you are going into secure mode, and push the "Secure" button on Privatel. That's it Privatel automatically takes care of the rest.

Q:

Where would I use Privatel?

A:

In short, anywhere and anytime that you want to keep personal or business discussions private. The easiest examples are business partners discussing a new joint venture, or a member of the corporate headquarters talking to an international office. But the possibilities are endless...an engineer calling in from a hotel to discuss an idea s/he may have developed at a conference, a home office employee calling in to discuss a project, or just two people who want assurance that their discussion can remain between themselves.

Q:

Do I need another Privatel for every place I'm likely to be (i.e.. home, office)?

A:

No, Privatel is portable, and attaches to virtually any phone where the handset can be detached from the base...just like a Caller ID unit. This means that Privatel can go with you to a hotel, to a foreign office, to a company partner or competitor location...anywhere where you may need to speak confidentially.

Q:

What if I need 100 units, do you offer volume discount?

A:

Yes! Any volume discount, for an order of 20 or more units, must be handled by a sales manager on a case by case basis.  Email: sales@dorosecurity.com

Q:

Does Privatel support Fax machines or Data capability?

A:

Privatel is designed specifically for voice. At this time, L-3 does not make a commercial device to support anything other than voice. However, this question has been asked on many occasions and discussions have begun within our organization for adding other products to the Privatel line.

Q:

Does Privatel have a "back door", or some means to allow third parties to listen in if they know "the secret"?

A:

No. When going into secure mode, Privatel automatically negotiates with the Privatel unit on the callee end and generates a unique random session key. After the call, the Privatel destroys the session key. The keys are never stored, and there is no key escrow or other means of accessing the encryption algorithm.

Q:

How many Privatels do I need to have a secure conversation?

A:

Two.

Q:

How many Privatels do I need for my business?

A:

How many employees have conversations that should remain confidential? The acquisition of Privatel, like any other security product, should be part of your organization's overall risk management plan. How much is the loss of a company secret worth? Who in the organization is likely to have access to those secrets, and to whom might they be communicating regarding those secrets?

Q:

Can all Privatels work securely with every other Privatel in use in every other business?

A:

Yes. No matter the location or the business or home involved, if there is a Privatel at the other end, by simply pushing the "Secure" button, your Privatel will automatically negotiate with the callee's Privatel to establish a secure connection.

Q:

Will my voice sound "funny" if I'm talking securely on Privatel?

A:

No! Privatel offers the clearest voice quality in the industry...called "Toll Quality" in the telephone business. Be assured that You will sound like You on Privatel.

Q:

If an eavesdropper buys a Privatel, can s/he listen in on my Privatel secured conversation?

A:

No. First of all Privatel negotiates a unique session key with the callee Privatel An eavesdropper with a Privatel will not have that. Secondly, once a secure connection is established, You and your callee can verify through the key fingerprint number displayed that a secure connection exists with no "man in the middle".

Q:

Will you make changes to the design if our organization should need it?

A:

We believe that Privatel offers the best commercial voice encryption solution. The automatic key exchange eliminates the need to memorize manual keys and facilitate key management. The Triple-DES encryption is so secure that it is used by many of the world's major banks. Any discussion for changes should be made with the product manager. Currently there are not any plans for a different product any time in the near future.

Q:

Does Privatel have any testimonials or information on who has purchased it so far?

A:

Due to the nature of the product, our customers wish to be kept private, which we hope that you can understand and appreciate. However, Privatel is the ONLY voice encryption product that has been FIPS-140 certified.
